This unit provides a low-risk alternative to standard hubs and MAU's and offers the best network performance for the lowest possible price but will also integrate seamlessly with existing Token Ring infrastructure.

Another distinguishing feature of the DeskStream is its stackable interface. Up to 8 Smart DeskStream devices may be stacked together to provide in excess of 200 users with resilient, secure and manageable Token Ring connectivity. The stack can then be connected into a Madge Ringswitch using any combination of ATM, HSTR, 16/4 Token Ring or Ethernet over either wire of fibre media. This allows the workgroup high speed, low-latency access to the network backbone.
