The Madge wireless probe monitor has been designed especially for mid to large sized organisations who wish to monitor wireless access to their networks and police their wireless policy from a single, centralised location. The Probe monitor automatically scans the airwaves for the presence of installed Madge wireless probes and receives and logs the data transmitted from them. Although the Probes are themselves standalone devices, an organisation with several probes and dozens of Access Points will benefit from the simplicity of the Probes reporting back to a single monitoring location, where graphical wireless reports, trends and alerts can be generated from wireless devices throughout the whole network. The wireless Probes intelligently monitor every single wireless packet of data transmitted on every possible channel in the 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth spectrums and decides whether to generate a report to the Probe Monitor, which will itself decide whether the packet was both unauthorised and a threat to the internal network - in which case it will generate an alert so that integrity systems data can be retained. The probe monitor is a 2U rack-mount unit which allows unauthorised access points, clients and intrusions to be detected and dealt with quickly and effectively whilst also providing thorough wireless network statistics.
